Job Description:

The Chief of Staff (CoS) will be instrumental in the reorganization and operations of a vertically integrated real estate development, and engineering & construction firm. They will be supporting the implementation of operational objectives and working closely with the CEO to ensure the various business functions across three related companies are running smoothly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Executive Support

  • Research, present, and implement a corporate governance structure
  • Work with the department heads to prepare monthly reports and make recommendations based on the content of those reports
  • Be a thought partner with the CEO on strategy, structuring, and systems
  • Attend meetings on the CEOs behalf when necessary and represent them well

Operations

  • Validate resource requirements from the different businesses
  • Support the development of a robust performance evaluation system of individuals with HR and of the departments themselves, and the utilization of the system by management on down
  • Engage with those in the operational value chain and ensure tasks are being carried out by those responsible; as necessary, do them yourself to determine success

Research and Reporting

  • Study current system capabilities and practices then design and recommend modifications and improvements
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks

Project Management

  • Monitor corporate or client project progress end-to-end by tracking activity from time to time, resolving problems, publishing progress reports and recommending actions
  • Delegate work as and when necessary to ensure successful completion of projects

  • You have 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience in a large organization where you were directly involved with corporate management and institutional development
  • You are extremely organized with strong time-management skills
  • You have great experience with Microsoft Office
  • You are a great communicator, both written and verbal
  • You have the ability to impact operations and effect change
  • You have amazing relationship building and management skills
  • You love traveling and meeting new people
  • You are detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive
  • You are able to work independently and in a team
