Job Description:

David Rio Coffee and Tea, Inc. (founded in 1996) is a leading premium chai company based in San Francisco.  We blend eastern tradition with western innovation and style, and today, we offer our premium chai and tea products domestically and to over 50 countries worldwide.

The company is currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join the growing and stable team of professionals who are passionate about delivering the best in the beverage industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end close process and monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger functions to ensure that all revenue, expenses, assets and liabilities are appropriately managed and tracked
  • Supervise and review the work of staff accountant
  • Process payroll
  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations Reconcile intercompany balances
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
  • Prepare cash flow projection
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting package with loan covenants calculations to the bank in compliance with credit agreement
  • Prepare and review variance and trend analysis for revenue and operating expenses; investigate and resolve necessary items
  • Work with senior management to define and track key performance metrics and profitability
  • Assist in defining, developing and implementing scalable financial processes to support the growth of the business; help to establish appropriate company-wide improvements in accounting controls; document processes and procedures
  • Prepare schedules for annual financial review
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax accountants to meet deadlines
  • Assist in the design and preparation of budget and forecast
  • Prepare all necessary filings with government agencies, including but not limited to sales and use tax return, business property statement, San Francisco Health Care Security Ordinance, San Francisco Gross Receipts Tax and Payroll Expense Tax, and 1099-Misc
  • Any other financial and management ad hoc projects as requested

Requirements:

  • BS/BA/Degree in Accounting with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a sophisticated accounting environment
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and advanced skills in Excel
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail producing consistent accuracy
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and multitask daily tasks, projects, and ad hoc requests
  • Strong multitasking abilities to perform and complete various daily and monthly tasks and projects
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others as well as independently
