Job Description:

The position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company including the preparation of financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with the appropriate generally accepted accounting principles or standards. Additionally, this role will supervise all accounting personnel.

Principal responsibilities will include:


  • Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Maintain professional relations with all members of the management team
  • Manage outsourced accounting functions
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
  • Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations and divisions, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
  • Manage the capital request process
  • Manage the budgeting processes


  • Issue timely, accurate and complete financial statements
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Discuss any significant changes in trends with management
  • Provide for a system of management cost reports
  • Provide financial analyses including, but not limited to, capital investments, pricing decisions and contract negotiations
  • Certify to the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Executive Officer that the financial statements are accurate


  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid as scheduled
  • Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
  • Process payroll in a timely manner
  • Ensure that periodic asset reconciliations are completed on a timely basis
  • Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Certify to the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Executive Officer that the financial statements are accurate


  • Manage and coordinate the quarterly reviews and annual audit by the external auditors, and coordinate the flow of information to the auditors
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with all debt covenants
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings other than federal income taxes


  • Master's degree in accounting ideal (preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Accounting and the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations)
  • Minimum 10+ years’ progressively responsible accounting management experience for a significant company or division of a large corporation Should have a high competence level of written and oral communication skills
  • Some travel to company subsidiaries/divisions will be necessary
