Deborah Kovalik was a Director in the EisnerAmper Tax Department with a specialty in Forensic, Litigation and Valuation Services. She had more than 25 years of diversified and relevant litigation consulting and forensic accounting experience, which includes serving 14 years as a revenue agent and technical reviewer with the United States Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service in the State of New Jersey, and working in public accounting as a forensic accountant and fraud auditor. In addition, Deborah worked as a Controller in the retail industry and as Vice-President, Finance in the closed-circuit TV surveillance industry. In these two private industry positions, she was responsible for the detection, deterrence and prevention of fraud, waste and abuse.

Deborah’s experience, knowledge, and expertise enabled counsel and clients to rely on her financial acumen and judgment in a wide variety of civil and criminal cases. These cases have included internal investigations, white collar crime, commercial litigation, civil and criminal tax controversy, senior management and employee fraud, financial statement fraud, internal and external fraud schemes, shareholder and matrimonial disputes, guardianship litigation, and third-party asset misappropriation. Deborah’s core value to counsel and clients was her substantial experience as a forensic accountant and a former IRS Revenue Agent with the U.S. Treasury Department. As a result of her keen leadership, management and technical competency, Deborah assisted counsel and clients as an expert consultant in civil and criminal matters and in all phases of the litigation process from pre-complaint to post-trial.

Deborah lectured extensively to a variety of professionals. She was a great friend and mentor to so many of us and will be sorely missed.
