Craig Maurer is a Senior Audit Manager in the Not-for-Profit Services Group. His experience includes the planning and administration of audits of the financial statements and employee benefit plans of a variety of not-for-profit entities, including private foundation, social clubs, and religious organizations. Craig’s experiences includes governmental engagements, including those entities that receive government funding that require special compliance reporting. He also has experience with preparing federal compliance and tax forms, such as Forms 990 and 990-T, and other related federal, state, and local filings.
Craig has private accounting experience, having served as Controller with a for-profit business-to-business organization where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations, preparation of budgets, and projections.
Craig has written various articles for the firm’s Not-for-Profit blogs. In addition, he contributes to the firm’s continuing professional education offerings by developing course materials and teaching selected programs on a variety of matters of current interest in the not-for-profit marketplace.
Prior to joining the firm, Craig was with another accounting firm assisting with the running of their doctor health care practice.
Craig currently sits as the Treasurer of a New York City- based religious service education not-for-profit for mentally handicapped youth.
