Deborah Friedland, EisnerAmper’s Practice Leader of Hospitality Advisory Services, was a recent guest on Yahoo Finance’s The First Trade with Brian Sozzi and Alexis Christoforous. Deborah discussed the impact of COVID-19 on the hotel sector.
The wide-ranging interview covered the impact on sector employment, occupancy and property closures, securitized debt, and which chains are best capitalized for a post-epidemic recovery. The largest factor remains uncertainty, and the group discussed if people will eventually release a pent-up demand for travel or be wary of going to previously shared spaces.
