Barry S. Levine
Barry Levine is a Tax Director with more than 35 years of legal, government, and consulting experience, specializing in employee benefits, tax, and ERISA issues. He has an extensive background in consulting on plan design, operational compliance, investments, drafting, employee communications, mergers and acquisitions, and representation before the IRS, DOL, and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC). In addition to holding senior positions with national employee benefits consulting firms, Barry was a Deputy Assistant General Counsel of the (U.S.) PBGC, and a Branch Chief of the (U.S.) Securities and Exchange Commission, both in Washington, D.C.
Barry has written articles on employee benefit legal issues for various legal and employee benefits professional publications, including: Business Lawyer, Journal of Pension Planning & Compliance, and Benefits & Compensation International. He has been a featured speaker on employee benefits issues for the American Management Association, the Risk and Insurance Management Society, the Healthcare Association of New York State, the New Jersey CPA Education Foundation, the Voluntary Hospital Association of New Jersey, the Enrolled Actuaries Meeting, Pension & Investments magazine, and the International Training Programme of KPMG UK.
