Biography

Mitchell J. Blas is a Tax Manager with over 35 years of public accounting experience. He specializes in finding creative tax solutions for highly compensated individuals, small business owners and service professionals in a number of industries including law firms, medical practices, financial services, real estate sales and insurance.


Mitch advises clients using a holistic approach to their tax management as well as their overall financial lives. He helps clients with current tax and cash flow strategies, and is mindful of their long range business and personal financial goals. Mitch is often proactively involved in helping clients with their business decisions and provides clients with outside financial resource management.


Mitch frequently ‘shepherds’ his clients through the decision-making process for insurance, pension, estate planning and other financial management resource choices. He also has experience consulting with small business start-ups, helping such entities to find practical ways to choose financial record-keeping, payroll and other business structural systems. Prior to joining the firm, Mitch was a tax associate with a boutique New York City accounting firm.


In the community, Mitch has served on the governing boards of several Jewish organizations in New York City and has provided pro-bono accounting services to a number of them. He served as Chief Financial Officer of the Queens Jewish Community Council and was its long-time liaison to the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York. Additionally, Mitch served as Chairman of the Board of the Astoria Center of Israel, a board member of the Queens Chamber of Commerce, member of the citizens’ advisory group of his local New York Police department and a similar group advising the Queens District Attorney’s office.
