Job Description:

Matrix Private Capital Group, a diversified asset management and strategic consulting firm based in New York City, is looking to hire an experienced individual for the role of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, including accounting for private equity and/or hedge funds. The position will also require Office Manager, Human Resources and Compliance responsibilities. Responsibilities include:

Finance and Accounting:

  • Invoicing; paying bills; monitoring bank accounts
  • Bookkeeping and cash management
  • Interacting with tax accountants and auditors
  • Private equity fund accounting; investor reporting; financial statement preparation
  • Internal and external financial reporting
  • Maintaining books and records (shareholders/members, capital accounts, registered entities, formation documents)

Office Manager / Human Resources:

  • Procurement (insurance, equipment, accountants, building management, subscriptions, IT, )
  • Vendor management
  • Company policies and procedures
  • Filing systems
  • Payroll and benefits (via company’s professional employer organization [“PEO”])
  • Payroll compliance
  • Employee onboarding/offboarding


  • Serve as Chief Compliance Officer and oversee compliance program and procedures with respect to the firm’s registration with the SEC as a registered investment adviser
  • Interface with outsourced compliance consulting team, including periodic testing and addressing newly-adopted regulatory rules
  • Provide ongoing compliance support activities

Legal (assist senior executives with legal documents – experience not necessary):

  • Employment agreements; Separation agreements; Formation documents; Consulting client agreements; Investment agreements; Private equity fund agreements; Financing documents (loans); Equity incentive plan; Succession plan
