Position Title: Controller / Finance Director

OVERVIEW:
This position reports to the CEO and oversees cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/collection, therapist (provider) payroll and risk management. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
- Monthly close of books and reports to CEO
- Manages cash needs and banking relationships.
- Manages and motivates the Billing team to provide “frictionless customer experience” and adhere to invoicing timelines.
- Provides status on company financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial data to the CEO and management.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by researching existing and new GAAP proclamations, legislation, consulting with outside advisors and filing financial reports
- Advises management of actions and potential risks.
- Manage relationship, Accountants Review and tax return preparation with outside CPA firm.
- Manges relationship with outside bookkeeper firm.
- Manages all Federal, State and Sales/Use taxes for the company.
- Arranges for audits as required and appropriate.
- Prepares and manages budget and controls expenses effectively.
- Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively.
- Keeps up to date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
- Prepare monthly pay for hundreds of 1099 providers.
- Prepare monthly sales commission.
- Maintains and updates invoicing and billing processes.
- Direct management of the Billing Manager.
- Streamlines all finance related processes.
- Updates and maintains finance checks and balance system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in accounting or finance
- Master's degree preferred; CPA strongly preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
- 5 or more years of experience in managing the accounting or finance function in a small to medium sized company.
- Experience in a fast-paced, small company environment with multiple responsibilities.
- Required management experience.
- Service Industry Experience a plus.
- Knowledge in Paycom a plus.
- Willing to take on additional responsibilities to assist in growth.
- Technical and database acumen a plus.
