As part of the 2015 NYC EisnerAmper Cares Volunteer Week, employees headed out to Huntington Harbor for the third year in a row to lend a hand at Splashes of Hope. Splashes of Hope is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to transforming the environments of hospitals, health care centers and social service facilities with custom-designed, hand-painted murals. The artwork is designed to comfort patients during treatment, healing and recovery by providing a soothing and uplifting visual focus. Each mural is designed to address the unique needs of the patients, their family, and the staff that cares for them.

After a tour of the facility, the EisnerAmper volunteer team of 15 was divided into various project groups. Everyone came dressed to get messy as we helped out with tasks such as priming the mural boards, assisting with office work, and moving boards from the basement to the upstairs studio as well as cleaning out and organizing the paint room.

Splashes of Hope relies primarily on the generosity and help of volunteers and corporate sponsors in order to fulfill its mission. The tasks that we assisted with allow the artists to spend more time focusing on their mission of bringing color and creativity to the stark white walls of healing facilities.

The mission of EisnerAmper Cares is to serve those in need using our gifts of time and skills, through charitable, civic, and environmental projects and programs. The time we spend volunteering reminds us of the importance of giving back to our community. Please visit www.splashesofhope.org for more information on this wonderful organization
